BEE CITY USA

City of Rome Bee Board

Bee City USA galvanizes communities to sustain pollinators – responsible for 1 in 3 bites we eat and the reproduction of almost 90% of the world's flowering plant species – by providing them with healthy habitat, rich in a variety of native plants, and free to nearly free of pesticides. Rome, Georgia is an affiliate of Bee City USA committed to conserving pollinators and enhancing our planet's resilience through education and increased and improved pollinator habitats.

OUR PROJECTS

NATIONAL POLLINATOR MONTH

Each June, we celebrate National Pollinator Month with a variety of activities to promote the benefits of pollinators. With events ranging from story time at the library to our annual Bee Fest, there is fun and information for all!

POLLINATOR PLOTS

Bee City USA - Rome, GA worked together with our Parks and Rec Department to identify areas that are hard to mow, or unnecessary to mow. Those areas, totaling over 50 acres, were sowed with pollinator blend wildflower seeds and designated as Pollinator Plots!
