Keep Rome-Floyd Beautiful

OUR PROGRAMMING

Discover meaningful ways to volunteer and make a difference in your community.

LITTER REDUCTION

We’re on a mission to create a cleaner, safer, and more beautiful community, one piece of litter at a time.
Our Litter Reduction Program empowers residents, volunteers, and local groups to take action through cleanups, education, and sustainable habits. Whether it’s picking up trash in your neighborhood or joining a river cleanup, every small effort adds up to big change. Together, we can keep Rome-Floyd beautiful!

Want to host your own cleanup? You can request to check out a free litter kit, complete with supplies to help you make an impact. Local civic clubs, churches, scout troops, and other community groups are encouraged to check out kits and make changes in their communities.

BEAUTIFICATION

Our Beautification Program brings life, color, and pride to public spaces across Rome and Floyd County.
From planting trees and pollinator gardens to removing graffiti and supporting vibrant public art, we work to transform shared spaces into places people love. Through community partnerships and hands-on efforts like Arbor Day events, mural installations, and neighborhood enhancements, we’re building a cleaner, greener, and more welcoming environment for all.

Local civic clubs, churches, scout troops, and other community groups are encouraged to schedule and host their own beautification projects and we’re here to help with guidance, supplies, and support to bring your ideas to life. To learn more, email KRFB Program Coordinator, Hannah Bagley at hbagley@romega.us.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Community involvement is at the heart of everything we do. Keep Rome-Floyd Beautiful brings people together through cleanups, beautification projects, educational programs, and volunteer opportunities that strengthen our connection to the places we live, work, and play. Real change starts with all of us — one action at a time. To learn more, email KRFB Program Coordinator, Hannah Bagley at hbagley@romega.us.

EDUCATION

Keep Rome-Floyd Beautiful’s environmental education programs are designed to spark curiosity and build a deeper understanding of the habitats we impact every day. Through hands-on learning and local connections, we show students and adults how simple actions, guided by knowledge, can protect and preserve the natural resources that make our community thrive. To learn more, email KRFB Program Coordinator, Hannah Bagley at hbagley@romega.us.

Memorial Arboretum

Arboretum Logo.pdf.png

The Rome Memorial Arboretum is a heartfelt program that offers individuals and families a meaningful way to honor the memory of a loved one or celebrate a special life event through the planting of trees. These living memorials serve as enduring symbols of remembrance, healing, and hope, while also contributing to the beauty, biodiversity, and ecological health of our community.

The original Memorial Arboretum was established in 2017 along the AdventHealth ECO Greenway, beginning behind the AdventHealth Stadium and extending to the Chieftains Museum. This peaceful trail is lined with native and ornamental trees dedicated in honor of those who have left a lasting impact on the lives of others. While this space has become a cherished place for reflection, it is no longer accepting new dedications due to limited capacity.

To continue offering this meaningful experience, a new Memorial Arboretum has been established along the Mount Berry Trail, just off Cologni Way. This scenic trail provides a tranquil and accessible setting for those wishing to commemorate loved ones through tree dedication, while also supporting pollinators, native habitats, and the long-term health of our urban green spaces.

All memorial trees are non-invasive species, carefully selected for their ability to thrive in our local environment. While some are less commonly found in the area, they were chosen for their seasonal interest, with many offering beautiful spring blooms and vibrant fall color. Each tree in the arboretum is already established and healthy, and participants in the program will receive a custom engraved plaque placed at the foot of the selected tree, providing a lasting tribute that blends meaningfully into the landscape.

At Keep Rome-Floyd Beautiful, we believe trees represent more than shade and scenery — they are living legacies that tell stories, honor memories, and connect us to the places we call home. If you are interested in dedicating a memorial tree, please contact Hannah Bagley, Program Coordinator at hbagley@romega.us or (706) 236-4456 , to learn more about how to take part in this special program.
