Our Programs & Civic Initiatives
At Keep Rome-Floyd Beautiful, we believe that environmental stewardship is a collaborative, everyday effort. We drive localized environmental transformation through targeted programs, hands-on community resources, and strong partnerships with city leadership.

Litter Reduction & Prevention
Our mission is to create a cleaner, safer, and more vibrant community—one piece of litter at a time. Our Litter Reduction Program empowers residents, civic groups, and neighborhoods to take ownership of their environment through targeted cleanups and sustainable daily habits. Because our local stormwater runoff flows directly into our waterways untreated, we prioritize extensive river and stream-bank cleanups to actively protect the rich aquatic biodiversity of the Coosa River Basin.

Beautification & Community Revitalization
Our beautification efforts bring life, color, and community pride to public spaces across Rome and Floyd County, fostering a safer and more welcoming environment. By blending creativity with community action, we support vibrant local mural installations that transform empty walls into cultural landmarks. Working hand-in-hand with municipal public works, we also champion community greening through neighborhood enhancements, pollinator gardens, and graffiti removal to build sustainable public spaces.

Environmental Education
Real, long-term behavior change starts with awareness, and KRFB is a local leader in cultivating the next generation of environmental stewards. We work directly with schools and civic organizations to offer interactive, hands-on lessons on local ecology and resource conservation. By making these vital environmental topics accessible and engaging, we inspire everyday actions that ripple across the community to protect our shared natural spaces.

The Memorial Arboretum
The Memorial Arboretum is a cherished project managed by the Tree Board, allowing citizens to contribute to the city’s urban forest by dedicating a living tree to honor loved ones or commemorate milestone life events. While our original historic site along the banks of the Oostanaula River features over 28 mature tree species, it is no longer accepting new dedications due to spatial limitations. To continue this beautiful legacy and enhance our city's green infrastructure, a new Memorial Arboretum expansion has been established along the scenic Mount Berry Trail (accessible off Cologni Way), providing a picturesque, peaceful setting for new living tributes.
